The Need

BinaryTree sought out the help of an experienced agency to help them get a few key projects executed on an existing Umbraco platform. We have augmented their marketing and operations team for projects including, UX refresh (new navigation and information architecture), needing a better organization of content in the back-office of Umbraco, implementing a multilingual content structure for global expansion, and more. 

The Solution

Scandia was tasked with refreshing the user experience and general flow of the content as it's first project. We started with wire-framing to conceptualize the the layouts and content architecture before starting the design phase. This allowed our teams to communicate effectively and quickly prototype new ideas and changes as the project evolved. From there our designers collaborated closely with an internal BT design team to execute the final look n' feel. Our user interface developers made the new layouts and templates real in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript so the client and other stakeholders could experience the new navigation and UI in real browsers. 

In addition to this larger initiative, our team worked with the marketing team to optimize search engine indexing of the site and overall content. This included keyword research, competitive analysis, and Google Analytics/Tag Manager review. 

To make this manageable, our business analysts and account manager worked directly with BT marketing staff to fine-tune how content is managed so that a proper review and deployment workflow could be put in place. 

The Result

Today, the US and international marketing groups have the tools they need to manage and translate content, users can easily find the solutions they need based on the UX developed to specific defined personas, and the IS team no longer has to worry about promoting or deploying content. We migrated the website and all its dependencies to Azure Infrastructure as a Service to stabilize and improve performance for local and global web traffic (German, French, and more languages coming). 

In addition to this, we integrated the site and all of the content with OneTrust for GDPR compliance.
